Our Services

We offer Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery services for the Northern Territory community. As a specialist practice we can offer treatment for patients under general anaesthetic, IV sedation and local anesthetic.

Wisdom Teeth Removal

We offer removal of wisdom teeth in our rooms under local anaesthetic or sedation. Alternatively, most clients choose to have their wisdom teeth removed under a general anaesthetic, which can be done at Darwin Private Hospital or Darwin Day Surgery.

Corrective Jaw Surgery

Corrective Jaw Surgery is also known as orthognathic surgery. The definition of orthognathic means “straight jaw”. Often a patient may visit the orthodontist to have their teeth straightened and obtain a better and healthier bite. However, there is a small group of patients that will require the expertise of the oral and maxillofacial surgeon to help the orthodontist get the bite correct. This is because not only are the teeth crowded but also the jaw itself is not in the correct alignment. A growth problem, traumatic injury, or disease process of the upper, lower or both jaws are common causes of this problem

People with missing teeth may benefit from techniques that allow artificial teeth to be secured firmly in the mouth connected to titanium implants. Implants are an integral part of modern dentistry and provide longevity and functionality to the restoration or the mouth.

All-on-4 and Zygomatic Implants

Edentulism is the condition of complete tooth loss and inadequate bone to support conventional dentures and implants. Even in the most extreme case, it is often possible to rehabilitate the mouth with advance implant techniques of the immediate restoration of the teeth

Medically Compromised and Difficult Tooth Removal

Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons have a degree in both medicine and dentistry. They are well equipped to deal with difficult and complicated extractions. Some people are on a variety of medications or have a complex medical history. In these situations, a dentist will choose to refer to an Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon.

TMJ Surgery

The temporomandibular joints are critical to proper joint function. Many conditions may affect the TM joint. Both medical and surgical interventions can improve joint functions and pain.
